The URJC and the CSIC agree to collaborate on research in Medicinal Chemistry

The rector of the Rey Juan Carlos University, Javier Ramos, and the president of the Higher Council of Scientific Universities (CSIC), Emilio Lora-Tamayo, have signed a protocol of intent through which the two institutions commit to collaborate in research in Chemistry Medical.

During the signing of the agreement, Ana Castro, director of the Institute of Medicinal Chemistry of the CSIC, pointed out the importance of collaboration between institutions in this field.

The rector of the URJC has shown his intention to launch the new pharmacy degree as soon as possible and has been interested in the social impact of the new academic trends in the field of health.

Castro has highlighted the relevance that biomedical or biotechnological studies are having at this time. Members of both institutions have shown that there is a large field that today is of great scientific and social interest with respect to all areas of health. Today, they have pointed out, there is an awareness of aspects related to health indirectly, such as nutrition, sports or cosmetics.
