More sustainable and safe transport for the URJC community

The Rey Juan Carlos University launches a sustainable mobility program in its different Campuses and locations. The incorporation of cleaner energy sources and the promotion of the shared use of means of transport are some of the initiatives proposed by the Office of the Vice President for Innovation and Transfer.

One of the priority lines in the Strategic Plan of the Campus of International Excellence of the University (CEI 'Intelligent Energy') is the action program in environmental and energy sustainability. This program, recognized by the Ministry of Education, goes beyond training and research, and will make the URJC infrastructure more sustainable.

To do this, different actions are proposed that range from the incorporation of cleaner energy sources, to promoting the shared use of means of transport on the move.

In a first phase, a diagnosis of the current state of mobility at the University is being carried out. Thus, the Office of the Vice President for Innovation and Transfer, through a small online survey, has asked the university community about this matter. The results of the questionnaire, in which you can still participate, will serve to find out some interesting data related to the mobility of students, faculty and staff.

The Vice Chancellor of this area, Juan Antonio Melero, assures that "the analysis of these data will allow establishing the first action guidelines". In addition, work is being done on setting up a URJC Mobility Commission that will allow the evaluation and monitoring of these activities.
