URJC Medicine students prepare for the MIR

Thousands of medical students prepare their appointment with the MIR for next February 10. The most important examination of the medical career will be held this year simultaneously in 50 centers throughout the country. In this test and for three calls, the student body graduated in Medicine from the Rey Juan Carlos University is among the top seven positions.

With one month to go until the 2018 MIR, the URJC medical students take advantage of the last days of study before the test. This is the most important exam of their career, which will be held in 50 centers in 21 Spanish cities, and which will allow them to specialize and obtain a hospital position.

The boys and girls of the Rey Juan Carlos University rank year after year among the top seven positions. In the 2013-2014 test they ranked first and in the 2015-2016 test they were fourth. Of the 105 medical students at the University who took the exam in 2017, 102 passed the cut-off mark and 83 of them obtained a place.

The exam classifies the results of each MIR applicant into three groups: strong, medium and weak. For this reason, the dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Carmen Gallardo, trusts that the students will remain in this edition "among the 10 best positions, with the majority of our students in the strong group of the MIR". Taking this metric into account, in the URJC those in the strong group continue to be in the majority and those classified in the weak group are in the minority.

From the dean of the faculty they assure that the students "have a very good preparation due, in part, to the enthusiasm, the demand in teaching and the quality of the training they receive in the hospitals where they carry out the clinical practices".
