The investiture ceremony took place this morning in the Rector's Assembly Hall, on the Móstoles Campus. Coinciding with the appointment of the new doctor Honorary, businessman Richard Edelman, 95 doctors have been invested. They are students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering, the Higher School of Experimental Sciences and Technology, and the International Doctoral School.

In his speech, the rector of the URJC, Javier Ramos, congratulated the doctorates for this recognition and stressed the importance for the university community of awarding such a high academic degree. In addition, he has described the new doctors as "the men and women who will lead the society of the future."

On the one hand, he has assured that this fact not only marks the trajectory of the students, but also contributes to broadening the knowledge of the University. “This investiture shows the need to contribute to our environment”, he added.

On the other hand, the rector has highlighted the work of professors, Administration and Services Personnel (PAS), and all members of the university community in general, who are "the transmission belt between the professors themselves and the students".

The doctors invested today are the last ones who accessed the doctorate by the old system, since from now on a new regulation is applied to access the doctorate.
