Students of the Mathematics Degree will demonstrate throughout this Wednesday the infinity of opportunities that their profession in teaching and research has. They will do so, for the second consecutive year, coinciding with the celebration of π Day at the Móstoles Campus.

PI DAY 2The activity will introduce students to the possibilities of mathematics after the degree. Precisely the festivity takes place today because it is the 14th day of month 3, a date that contains the first two digits of the mathematical number (3,14), in English written 3/14.

From early this morning until 18:30 p.m. in the afternoon, the main hall of Lecture Hall 3, located on the Móstoles campus, will bring together great professionals from big data and research. In this way, it is intended to change that thought that mathematics only has opportunities in teaching or research.

According to the deputy director of students, Alberto Sánchez, it is an initiative that is carried out at an international level and that is used to delve into this field of study and make it known to mathematics students”. For her part, the coordinator of the Degree in Mathematics, Clara Simón, highlights that "the conference aims, above all, to delve into the role of mathematics in Spanish research." The event is organized at the proposal of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (RSME).

In order to attend the conference it is necessary to formalize the inscription through the enabled platform.
