The teacher has been selected by the 'Flipped Learning Review', which has also chosen the 100 best teachers in 'Flipped Learning' in secondary and primary education.

This distinction is a recognition of the work of Professor Cáceres, who was previously awarded during the 'Flipped Learning' Congress for the best university experience using this methodology.

As explained by Professor César Cáceres, "'flipped learning' is a methodology in which the student studies before going to class, which allows them to dedicate classroom work to teamwork or apply active learning methodologies".

The teacher has been applying this concept for 4 years in his subject of Computer Networks in the Degrees of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and Computer Engineering.

New ways of teaching and learning

As he has pointed out, his way of teaching combines several innovative methodologies, "I propose a theoretical work through audiovisual content, about which I ask in order to adapt the class after the doubts and problems that arose during that previous work ('Just in Time Teaching')”. During the class in the classroom, César Cáceres applies other innovative methodologies such as 'gamification', which allows "establishing team or individual competitions to solve the activities and problems that arise in the classroom", he indicated.

In addition, through the mobile, he carries out surveys in which he asks his students about the progress of the class. This tool allows you to obtain information to prepare for the next session.

According to the professor, "this type of teaching is very well received by the students and it has been proven that grades and learning improve".

César Cáceres Taladriz has been a Contract Professor at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Informática since 2003. He has a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the UPM in the Biomedical Engineering Program and a Master's in Telemedicine and Bioengineering also from the UPM.

In addition, he has recently been appointed Academic Director of the Center for Innovation in Digital Education: URJC online

His research has been linked to the Bioengineering and Telemedicine Group of the UPM and the Artificial Intelligence Group of the URJC, a researcher at the CIBER-BBN (Biomedical Network Research Center in Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine) with 17 journal publications, more 80 communications to national and international congresses, participating in 7 European and 18 national research projects.

On the other hand, it is an Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the UPM and the Award for the best Doctoral Thesis COIT-ORANGE Foundation in New Technologies for Disability. He currently researches network security and the Internet of things and is a member of the URJC Cybersecurity Cluster.
