The student Estela Bibiloni selected to do an internship at the United Nations

This 5th year double degree student in Economics and International Relations has been selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation to do an internship at the Permanent Mission of Spain at the United Nations headquarters in New York, along with 12 other Spanish students.

For this URJC student, “it is a wonderful experience and opportunity to meet people and how International Relations work”. Ella Estela will begin her internship on August 20 and, together with 12 other Spanish university students, will be in charge of attending the United Nations General Assembly committees, preparing reports and advising and supporting the diplomatic staff of the Permanent Mission. To get here, Estela Bibiloni has had to go through a demanding selection process.

The student is doing an internship at Deutsche Bank, but is looking forward to starting this new stage in New York. “It is the city of opportunities, and I am also going to live in a residence where we are all young, working girls, so I am going to be able to meet people from all over the world”, she indicated.

Estela has been related to international issues for a long time. In addition to studying the double degree, she is the founder of the URJC debate club and has participated in the organization of the United Nations Models that have been held at the University. In this sense, she has pointed out that these practices represent "an opportunity to put into practice everything learned in the models or in the debate club and try to influence decision-making to contribute to change".

Estela will take advantage of this experience to “try to find out if I really like International Relations, and get to know its public side”, she pointed out. She is clear that she wants to dedicate herself to working in "an international department of a multinational", but her great future goal is to dedicate herself to the negotiation of international conflicts, especially in the Arab world, a language that she has been studying for some time.
