The International Doctoral School celebrates its first congress

The appointment will feature the participation of professors and doctoral students and will serve to exchange experiences between researchers from various branches and reflect on the problems they encounter when carrying out their theses.

The International Doctoral School of the Rey Juan Carlos University will celebrate its first congress on November 27 and 28 and will take place at the Móstoles Campus. Each of the sessions will be opened by a Plenary Lecture, delivered by an exceptional speaker: on the 27th the person in charge of opening the conference will be Fernando García de Cortázar, Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Deusto and winner of the National History Prize in 2008, with the presentation 'History for all'.

One of the main objectives of this congress is for doctoral students to be the protagonists, finding a place for common reflection, guided by great scientific figures and professionals of recognized prestige.

The rest of the congress is structured in several round tables and oral communication sessions. In the round tables, experts from different universities and organizations will debate and reflect on topics such as the ethics of research, the situation of the job market for doctors and scientific dissemination as a contribution of doctoral research to society, this last round table It will feature the participation of the well-known disseminator Clara Grima, president of the Dissemination Commission of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society.

The Congress, through oral communications in which the most varied topics are covered, will also serve to disseminate the research activity carried out by the doctoral students of the International Doctoral School.

Registration to attend can be made at this link. Attendance for doctoral students of the URJC is free, for the rest of the public it has a price of 20 euros.

On the other hand, doctoral students from any university who wish to send their communications can do so to the address . The term ends on November 1. The Scientific Committee of the Congress will select a maximum of 27 communications per branch of knowledge, which will be defended in person at the Congress.
