This implementation constitutes one more step towards the 'Smart Campus' and the digitization of the assets that the university has for its patrimonial management and its educational use in a more efficient way.

The BIM methodology consists of the creation of digital models of buildings and facilities to centralize and index all the information that exists about the property and to be able to access it in a simpler and more practical way.

“In organizations as large as a university, the information systems that make up a building are normally distributed among different departments. With this project, what we seek is to integrate all that scattered information about our heritage assets into digital models to optimize their management and be able to make the best decisions about their future. In this way we ensure that all the information is unique, up-to-date and easily available to everyone”, says Javier Orellana, Energy Manager of the UNEFE (Energy Efficiency Unit of the URJC).

This is useful information because it centralizes all information on air conditioning, fire, security and laboratory equipment, among other services. This information is presented in a 3D model so that any type of user can access the data. What has been done is to digitize the building and the services to make the campus more and more intelligent.

UNEFE leads this project for its implementation in the university in which prestigious companies such as Enerdex, Tecnalia and Aenor have collaborated.
