The Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) will once again participate in the Community of Madrid 4ESO-Empresa programme. From April 8 to 11, the university will open its doors to high school students so that they can learn about the day-to-day activity of the technical and technological careers studied at the university.

The objective of these conferences is to bring the activity of technical and technological careers to the students of 4th ESO of the Community of Madrid to offer them the fun part of these specialties and awaken vocations and interests in the attendees.

The organizers of these conferences at the university have been forced to double the number of places offered this year compared to the previous one. It is expected that over these four days more than 180 students from 42 educational centers in the Community of Madrid will attend. During this activity, the attendees will go through the URJC campuses where the event is held to see 'in situ' a fun and informal way of facing their possible future at university.

The Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering (ETSII), the Higher School of Experimental Sciences and Technology (ESCET), located on the Móstoles campus of the URJC; the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences, located on the Madrid Vicálvaro campus; and the Faculty of Communication Sciences, with offices on the Madrid and Fuenlabrada campuses, will be the URJC centers that will participate in this initiative of the Community of Madrid.

Despite having considerably increased the number of places compared to the 2017-2018 academic year, many secondary school students who intended to attend these sessions have been left without a place. Something that shows the great success of this project that tries to bring the world of technology and business closer to students from institutes in the Community of Madrid.

Activities such as a computer gymkhana, 'Matesdivertidas', video game development for Android and Unity, a Virtual Reality cave, programming in HTML5 language or more focused on the fields of Law, Social Sciences and Communication will be the great attractions for attendees . This event, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will have the collaboration of students and teachers from the different bachelor's and master's degrees, who will bring the daily operations of these URJC faculties and schools closer to the students. high school
