The website of the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) ranks as the twenty-fourth in Spain with the most traffic on its website, according to the latest update of the Webometrics ranking, carried out by the Cybermetrics Laboratory of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). This study, which takes into account both the volume of Web content (number of web pages and files) and the visibility and impact of these web publications based on the number of external links (site citations) they received, is updated twice a year, in January and July.

In addition to being among the 25 digital portals with the most traffic in Spain, the URJC website ranks 346th among European universities and 824th among world universities. All of this is consistent with the line of improvement and enhancement of the activity of the URJC's social network accounts.

All profiles have notably increased visits in the last year. The website continues to be the medium with the most visits to the URJC. Social networks have increased almost 40.000 followers, with Linkedin being the social network with the most users following Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The most viewed news in this last week has been “The URJC in the top 10 of Spanish universities”, which attracted 1.069 visits to the web. During the last week, there were a total of 136.055 visits to the university website. Monday was the day that registered the most activity, with 25.358 sessions. On the contrary, Saturday, with 9.897 visits, was the day with the least activity on the university website.

Many of these visits to the URJC portal came through Facebook, more specifically 68,1% of them. It is followed by Twitter, from which 27,3% of the sessions last week originated. According to the age of the visitors, 40,8% belong to the age group between 25 and 34 years. In second place in this classification, the age group between 18 and 24 years, with 21,2% of visits. In third place, visitors between 35 and 44 years old accounted for 17,3% of the sessions in the last week.

The measurement of this ranking includes data from January 1, 2018 to January 1, 2019. The networks managed by the Communication Department of the Rey Juan Carlos University show results of more than 2.400.000 visits, which indicate a large influx and growth of the University's own media.

Web, the preferred medium par excellence

The URJC website was the most visited medium in 2018 of all the digital profiles that the university has, reaching a total of 8.090.127 sessions, an increase of 2.237.038 users compared to the previous period. The highest traffic is recorded during the month of July, on the 13th, with a total of 78.115 registered sessions. During 2018, around 600 news items were published.
