The student of the double degree in Computer Engineering and Business Administration and Management at the Rey Juan Carlos University, Guillermo Martín, has been awarded a place for a training trip in Silicon Valley thanks to the project he has developed in his start-up, 'Muzpic Technology'. The young man has designed a unique algorithm in the world capable of transforming musical works into pictorial works that has allowed him to win the  'X Explorer Program Edition' promoted by Banco Santander through Santander Universities.

The 'Explorer' program promotes young talent, entrepreneurship and the creation of innovative ideas. In its nine previous editions, this initiative has favored the creation of more than 500 companies and has promoted the projects of almost 5000 entrepreneurs. On June 14, the project presentation ceremony that closed the tenth edition of the program took place at the Business Incubator of the City Hall of Móstoles (headquarters of the 'Explorer URJC', the program's university division) where more than 40 entrepreneurs have received support, advice and training during the last five months.

Guillermo will travel to Silicon Valley, California on October 31, where, along with 55 other entrepreneurs, he will have the opportunity to immerse himself in the world's leading technological and innovation ecosystem. During his stay in the United States, the young man will visit different leading technology companies in the sector such as Google, Facebook, Apple or Airbnb and will attend some masterclass in that of  Stanford University or  Singularity University, among other. The objective of this experience is to inspire and empower young entrepreneurs to accelerate the development of their start-ups, providing them with connections for the internationalization of their projects and the search for financing. At the same time, it is intended to generate a community of talented and highly capable young people who build synergies and common points between them that are highly enriching for their professional future.

In addition to the first place in the general category that Guillermo Martín has achieved, there have been other winners. Second place was awarded to the 'Sensor Don't Forget' project, carried out jointly by Sofía López and Alejandro García, which proposes a device designed by young people that is incorporated into the seats of babies in cars and that warns the user in case of getting too far away from the baby. It is also worth mentioning that Sofía López has also been awarded the title of 'Woman Explorer Award' sponsored by the  EY Foundation and that allows him to opt for an economic prize of around 20.000 euros in November.

The rest of the 'Explorer URJC' finalist projects were: 'Customy', a project based on the personalized design of mobile phone cases by David Jhon, María Fuentes and Marta Gila; 'Your Secret Package', a platform for sending surprise packages by Rubén Zorita; 'Traby', an application for multimedia guides to foster culture and promote tourism, promoted by Carlos Javier González; 'Global Eco', a digital platform that brings together all kinds of ecological products, led by José Luis Torralba and 'Forum', a mobile application to help international students during their stays abroad, developed by Jaime Gómez and Jaime Gutiérrez.

After returning from the trip to Silicon Valley, all the winners will have to re-present their projects before a jury made up of representatives from Santander Universities, CISE and collaborating entities. This will select the global winners of 'Explorer 2019' and the three best entrepreneurs will receive an economic endowment (30.000, 20.000 and 10.000 euros) so that they can accelerate their projects.
