On November 5 at the Fundación Alcorcón University Hospital (HUFA), the Interdisciplinary Meeting on Research and Innovation in Health took place, a meeting space for more than 40 researchers from the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Higher School of Experimental Sciences and Technology, the Higher School of Telecommunications Engineering, the Higher School of Computer Engineering of the URJC and the Fundación Alcorcón University Hospital (HUFA).

The event served for researchers in Health Sciences to make themselves known, in order to give visibility to the lines of research they are developing; which, according to the organization, "could give rise to finding technological 'partners' from different disciplines in order to establish synergies and collaborations to establish consolidated joint lines of research".

Almost 50 projects from all fields of health

During the meeting, 47 lines of research and/or technological needs were presented through 3-minute presentations, as well as the Technological Support Center of the Alcorcón campus and the HUFA Biobank and Research Support Laboratory.

Specifically, very diverse lines of research were presented within the field of Health related to molecular biology, pharmacology, neurodegenerative and infectious diseases, advanced materials and biomaterials for the release of drugs or prostheses, biomedical imaging and instrumentation, marchine learning technologies, processing massive data, telemedicine and patient monitoring, etc.

In addition to the rector, the meeting was chaired by Modoaldo Garrido Martín, managing director of the Fundación Alcorcón University Hospital, Carmen Gallardo Pino, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University and Carlos Guijarro Herráiz, coordinator of Research, Teaching and Innovation of the Fundación Alcorcón University Hospital.
