The congress allows the exchange of experiences between doctoral students from the different branches of knowledge, with the participation of professors and students, promoting debate and communication between all of them. This is one of the objectives of this event, but not the only one. The URJC Doctoral School has set clear and attractive objectives for all the participants in the second edition of these conferences. On this occasion, all the presentations of the meeting can be followed on direct streaming through URJC TV, on the main page of the university website,

In addition to sharing ideas among themselves, another of the main objectives of this event is to reflect on the current problems of doctoral students from the different branches of knowledge. There has also been the presence of professors from other universities and research centers who have provided important keys to the work of researchers.

And of course, the II International Doctorate Congress, which has the collaboration of the Social Council of the URJC, serves to spread the research activity to all the participants, members of the university community, companies and society. But it is also intended that students be able to develop their ability to present and disseminate the results of their research.

In this way, the aim is to enhance and put the leading role in doctoral students. As researchers and as future references of knowledge, they have the possibility of finding a place for common reflection guided by great scientific figures and professionals of recognized prestige with this congress.

Open to anyone interested

Registration for the International Doctoral Congress has been open to all those students from both the URJC and other universities who have wanted to participate in it. University students could enroll for free, while the cost for students from other universities was 20 euros.

In addition, all registered students from any University may present a communication or poster related to the research topic of their doctoral thesis. To do this, they had to send a summary of their proposal to the organization of the event.

Of all the proposals received, the Scientific Committee of the Congress has selected 12 communications by branch of knowledge, for their face-to-face defense at the Congress. Likewise, the posters that will be distributed during the event have also been chosen.

Guidelines for disseminating knowledge

A large part of the activities that have been organized for these two days focus on doctoral students having references on how they should approach research on their topics, and how they should approach the communication of their results. For this, different sessions, conferences and workshops have been organized, in addition to the presentations of the best topics for each branch of knowledge by the participants.

Numerous scientists, researchers, professors and members of the URJC university community will be in charge of guiding the doctoral students through all the topics that have been addressed during these two days. Topics ranging from research on AIDS in Spain, as well as the transfer of knowledge, scientific culture or the psychosocial implications of research.

At the opening of the Congress, held in the Aula Magna of Lecture Hall II on the Móstoles campus, Javier Ramos, Rector of the URJC, was present, together with Amando López Seijas, presidents of the Social Council of the URJC; María Isabel Martínez Moreno, Postgraduate Vice-Rector; and Carolina Martín Mazzucconi, director of the International Doctoral School.
