The University arrives at the most important education fair in Spain, being the one that offers the most double degrees and the first in employability in the Community of Madrid. The URJC also offers a wide variety of workshops related to technology within the activities of the event.

This morning AULA 2020, the international education fair, began in Madrid, in which thousands of high school students, vocational training and even younger students wanted to learn firsthand what universities and other educational centers have to offer them for their future as students.

The Rey Juan Carlos University is presenting itself in this edition of AULA with a clear objective, in the words of the rector, Javier Ramos, "I hope that students and citizens of the Community of Madrid get to know the Rey Juan Carlos University, because if they know us they will know that we are the University with the highest employability rate in the Community of Madrid, according to the National Institute of Statistics”.

These indicators have their origin in a specialized offer in training, since the Rey Juan Carlos University is the one that offers the most double degrees, an element valued by future students such as Mateo, a young man who wants to orient himself towards Information and Communication Technologies ( ICT) that points out “that the University has quite a few interesting double degrees (in this area) that others do not have”.

To resolve the doubts of all those who visit its stand, the URJC has assigned to AULA a whole team of teachers, students and Administration and Services Personnel who attend to queries ranging from the most basic, such as "those related to court notes, where are the campuses, the training itinerary, professional opportunities or scholarships” as pointed out by Manuel Sánchez Acera, from the Student Information Center.

Technology, great protagonist

In addition to the orientation work, the URJC, through the ETSII (Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering) has programmed several activities, among which numerous workshops related to technology stand out, in which aspects such as 'Machine Learning', the development of video games, the Internet of things or competitive programming, all in an accessible and entertaining way. These workshops will take place from today until next Saturday.

Sign language and emotions in advertisements

For its part, from the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences, the Degree in Fashion Design and Management has provided two designs made by its students to “dress” the URJC stand and give it an elegant and attractive air. The two proposals have been made in one of the subjects of the degree and have been selected from a good number of proposals. On the other hand, the Degree in Spanish Sign Language and the Deaf Community is going to hold a workshop on Friday, which aims to bring sign language closer to future students and for this they will address the manual or dactylological alphabet, which is the manual representation of letters of the alphabet of the spoken language. That same day, the neuromarketing laboratory, directed by Professor Lucia Sutil, will carry out a demonstration of how new neurological knowledge can be applied to consumer knowledge, in this case it will try to find out the images that lend themselves more attention in an advertisement as well as the emotions that it arouses in each individual that participates in the experiment.

As explained by Julio Ramiro, head of Pre-university Guidance, all this deployment of the URJC in AULA wants to convey that "it is a university that tries to do things differently through proximity to the student, educational innovation and very new facilities ”.

Everything to create an academic offer and university life in line with the XNUMXst century and with a clear vocation as a public university and service to citizens.
