Among the material delivered, there are two respirators that, after review by specialists, are already part of the equipment of the Fuenlabrada Hospital. These respirators belonged to the Technological Support Center (CAT) of the Alcorcón Campus.

For its part, the Faculty of Health Sciences has collected all kinds of medical supplies: disposable gowns, masks, hats and gloves, which have gone to the Alcorcón Hospital Foundation.

For Carmen Gallardo dean of the FCS "it is a moment in which we must all support health and give what we have, the university, it must also be at the forefront as a public institution that it is".

Gallardo has pointed out that the URJC is currently looking for more material that could be useful to Madrid hospitals.

Accompany those who need it most

On the occasion of the quarantine decreed to prevent further expansion of the coronavirus pandemic, the URJC Volunteer Service has begun to collaborate with the Geriatric Benevolent Association, so that volunteers from the university community, using their own telephone, can communicate with older people living alone.

The objective is that these volunteers speak with the elderly two or three times a day, to reduce their feeling of loneliness and anguish in these disconcerting moments for them. Anyone who is interested can sign up here. link.
