From this Tuesday, March 17, and until the confinement situation ends, the University Clinic of the Rey Juan Carlos University has made a service telephone number available to all members of the university community, whether PAS, PDI or students. psychological. This initiative is promoted by all the members of the URJC Clinic and it is intended to help all those who need professional psychological care for the duration of this state of alarm due to the health emergency. "We wanted to offer this service to help those who need it based on our enormous social commitment to citizens and society," says the director of the clinic, Julio Zarco.
The telephone service of the clinic is totally free and will be available from 09:00 to 20:00. In it, the patient will be treated and given instructions based on their problem and, depending on the severity of the problem, the possibility of holding sessions via Skype and even, if the professional in charge of the consultation considers it necessary, quoting the applicant at the University Clinic to see you in person. Almost 60 professionals from the University Clinic have volunteered to carry out this initiative and offer their services to care for people.
On the other hand, in addition to starting up this psychological care telephone line, the Clinic has sent medical supplies and some of its professionals, both from the psychological and dental fields, to reinforce the staff of the Alcorcón Hospital and some town councils such as those of Móstoles, Navalcarnero, Fuenlabrada, Getafe or Alcorcón. "In these kinds of situations, we all have to put our shoulders to the wheel," explains Zarco, who also assures that: "The activity of the clinic is going to be adapted day by day to the needs of the moment and to the circumstances in order to be able to help in the best possible way." way".
The implementation of this number as a general service to the members of the University was one of the projects in which the Clinic was previously working, but motivated by the exceptional situation that the country is going through at the moment, they have decided to start it now. "When we get over this, we will surely implement this service to the university using this experience," says Julio Zarco, director of the Clinic.
