Master in Economic Criminal Law, one of the specialties most in demand by law firms

El Master in Economic Criminal Law of the URJC is an official degree, according to the regulations required by the European Higher Education Area. To this is added what allows access to pursue a doctorate later.

The degree offers training content whose objective is to prevent, detect and combat a wide range of specific crimes: corporate, bribery, embezzlement, administrative prevarication, influence peddling, fraud or business corruption, among others. In addition, it can be taken simultaneously with the Master's Degree for Access to the Legal Profession and is also aimed at criminologists.

The Master offers specialized and multidisciplinary training, essential for those lawyers who want to direct their professional activity to the field of economic criminal law and corporate criminal law. At the same time, it offers sufficient theoretical knowledge for those future researchers who intend to develop their scientific work on this subject. On the other hand, it allows knowing and developing the instruments and skills necessary for legal practice in this branch of Law.

The Curriculum combines subjects of strictly criminal legal content - foundations and constitutional limits of Economic Criminal Law; socioeconomic crimes; crimes against the Public Treasury and Social Security; Penalty system for the environment and land use planning; or corruption and crimes against the Public Administration, among others-, with complementary and essential subjects for the understanding and proper treatment of the problems that arise in this environment, such as: Criminal Procedural Law, Commercial Law and Analysis of Financial Statements.

Faculty, practices and multiple modalities

The teaching team of the Master is first class. It has a large number of professors, including professors, doctors from URJC and other universitiesprofessionals from KPMG, Magistrates of the Supreme Court and the National Court, Lawyers of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, CGPJ, specialist Prosecutors, and criminal lawyers from the main offices specialized in Economic Criminal Law.

On the other hand, the training offers internships in institutions, specialized offices and companies, with which the URJC has a prior agreement, with the aim of enriching and complementing the student's training, facilitating direct contact with the world of work.

The Master is adapted to the academic needs of the students. For this reason, its realization can be carried out through a standard, professional or simultaneous modality.

Recommended access requirements

The most recommended qualifications to be able to access this master's degree are mainly the Degree in Law and the Double Degrees with Law, being also admissible those candidates who are graduated in Criminology and want to specialize in economic crime.
