Since its first appearance in 2016, "Digital Pills" returns in 2020 with its third edition maintaining its original objective, to connect the University with different companies through presentations on the main trends in Digital Marketing.

Due to the current health situation, the event will be held electronically, unlike in previous years. "This year the format will be online, so we will maintain the Congress of 30-minute practical presentations to present the main trends in Digital Marketing," explains Ariadna Gómez Maldonado, one of the organizers of the symposium and a first-year bilingual Marketing student at the URJC. In the past, thanks to the face-to-face route, a theoretical conference was held in the morning and in the afternoon the concepts were put into practice through a practical Digital Marketing strategy workshop.

In addition to the knowledge acquired in the different exhibitions focused on trends, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Paid Media, the main themes of this year, will also be discussed. For this, there will be the presence of four experts in these areas from different companies. These are Nacho Comisaña, from Hawkers, Sergio Suárez, from Omnicom Media, Javier Queipo, from Edix Education and Cesar Díez, from Apache Digital.

In this sense, although the practical strategy workshop is not held, the content of the meetings does not become merely theoretical. “It serves as practice for the students who get involved in the organization, to learn first-hand how a Digital Marketing event is structured, how the online communication strategy is carried out, the use of social networks, the design of a web page of the congress and the creation of a digital brand”, adds Gómez.

In short, this edition of “Digital Pills” has new topics, speakers and different structuring bases. “One of the novelties of this edition is that the Congress is online. Likewise, the theme chosen this year is SEM and Paid Media, which is the same as Online Advertising, since in the current context there are many companies that are campaigning in this way and it is a very interesting professional opportunity for the students of the Degree in Marketing and other URJC Degrees such as ADE or Tourism”, says Gómez.

The convention is directed by Ana Reyes, professor of the Department of Business Economics at URJC, and students from the University of the Marketing Degree in English collaborate, "especially the first-year students who have started the degree with great motivation, as well as of Marketing from other universities such as UFV”, explains Gómez. Registration is free and the information for downloading tickets will be shared through the instagram profile @dpills_urjc.
