Students of the Double Degree in History, together with university graduates, will participate in the continued reading of Don Quixote. The event, which celebrates its twenty-fifth edition this year, will begin at 13 p.m. on April 23 and will be broadcast live on the web page of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, in its Youtube and from Radio Circle.

Due to the exceptional situation caused by the pandemic and the impossibility of carrying out a face-to-face reading, the Circle has chosen to organize a virtual reading, in which each participant will previously record their intervention.

In this way, URJC students and graduates will interpret two chapters of Cervantes' novel. The first will be chapter 43, Dwhere the captive still continues his success and the second will be chapter 49 Where it is about the discreet conversation that Sancho Panza had with his lord Don Quixote, both from the first part.

The artistic direction of the activity will be carried out by the teachers; Dr. Liuba González Cid, Dr. Miriam Lorenzo González, PhD student Rey Montesino Castillo and the collaboration of specialists Dr. Marifé Santiago Bolaños and Dr. Eduardo Blázquez Mateos.

Cultural, institutional and international presence

Throughout 24 hours, the uninterrupted reading of the culminating work of Spanish letters will take place. Its open nature provides citizens with a forum for participation that will include great personalities from the cultural, political and institutional world. Among them will stand out Francisco Brines, Cervantes Prize 2020, Pedro Sánchez, Isabel Díaz Ayuso or the Minister of Culture José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes.

Lastly, the event will feature recordings sent from various offices of the Cervantes Institute, from Spanish cultural centers abroad and from different educational institutions. For this reason, this reading will be positioned as one of the international events of reference on Book Day.
