Next Monday, June 14, at 19:3 p.m., Spanish time, the virtual parade of the XNUMXrd year students of the Fashion Design and Management degree at the Rey Juan Carlos University will take place.

As part of the work carried out in the degree, the students are challenged to create their own collection that will be the one they will present in the parade.

From the grade level, this parade is organized with a triple objective: to give recognition to the students, to generate an annual fashion parade as an exhibition platform for the creations made by the students and to follow their teaching development with real experience in the organization and management of fashion events.

The event will be broadcast next Monday, June 14 at 19:00 p.m. (GMT+2) on the YouTube channel of the Degree in Fashion Design and Management (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnfTd3wQ6eBMSHfqtdwtIKA.

The concept of the collections that will parade is that, through the study of the dream world of Disney, students develop their own creations, giving rise to a new vision in which magic and values such as inclusion, sustainability and creativity. Through experimentation and clothing, the students of the degree in Fashion Design and Management at the Rey Juan Carlos University propose designs and silhouettes with innovative and original styles.

Fabric, technology and experimentation

The parade is classified into three groups depending on its way of working and results:

  • Textile Group in which garments have been designed and produced in which the protagonist is the fabric, as well as colors and silhouettes. From dresses with classic shapes, to original garments.
  • Technological Group in which designs have been made in which technology is present. Thanks to the use of digital components, garments that light up, move or even inflate have been achieved, showing avant-garde designs.
  • Experimental Group composed of designs made with unconventional materials and textiles. Where through experimentation unique designs are conceived with a wide variety of textures and materials.

In addition to the YouTube channel already mentioned, you can follow the entire parade process through the degree's Instagram profile.

Since 2016 and for the first time in the history of the Spanish public university, the URJC offers a Degree in Fashion Design and Management, and two double degrees, aimed at training professionals for an industry that represents around 2,8 % of Spanish GDP.

The degree, taught at the Aranjuez and Madrid campuses, includes a curricular structure in which technical subjects specific to design and clothing, history of fashion and the arts alternate with others oriented towards the management of brands.
