There is already a date for the return of all the students to the classrooms at the Rey Juan Carlos University, it will be next Monday, October 18. The Governing Council of the university has unanimously approved, this Monday in an extraordinary meeting, the return of 100% of the students to the classrooms and laboratories of the URJC.

The URJC has been working for some time on this return to full face-to-face attendance, explains the vice-rector for Academic Planning and Teacher Training, Antonio Julio López Galisteo, “classrooms were assigned from the beginning with this scenario in mind, the Timetable Unit worked on that plan together with the Schools and Faculties in a student shift system, but those assigned classrooms were prepared to welcome all the students again”.

Exactly what the extraordinary Governing Council has approved is an Addendum to the General Protocol for the Adaptation of Teaching. Said Addendum, endorsed by all the members of the Council, also includes, according to the vice-chancellor, “the security measures that must be respected indoors and outdoors. This relaxation of interpersonal distance is restricted, by order of the Community of Madrid, exclusively to teaching spaces, that is, classrooms and laboratories.

The measure approved this Monday is a response to the demand of two important groups of the university community, such as the students and the PDI, given the current health situation and the progress of vaccination.
