Next Tuesday, November 2, the Theater Workshop begins that the Culture area of the Rey Juan Carlos University offers every year to all members of the university community. As the main novelty, in this academic year face-to-face groups return, although the online modality is maintained for those interested in this option.

The Alcorcón, Móstoles and Vicálvaro campuses host face-to-face workshops throughout the month of November and early December, with one session per week and lasting four hours each. The assigned spaces are the glazed classroom of the Management building in Alcorcón, the S010 classroom of the Laboratorios III building in Móstoles and the Madrid-Vicálvaro Gymnasium classroom.

Those interested can choose between an afternoon or morning group and the day of the week they want (Monday to Saturday). For this, six face-to-face groups and three in online mode have been enabled. To develop each workshop a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 18 is necessary and the places will be covered by order of registration.

Víctor Mendoza, coordinator of the Theater Workshop, explains that the objective of these courses is to develop the creativity of the students and disinhibit them. “Most of them come very shy and in theater you have to be giving the note”, he explains. "The idea is that they open their minds a bit and get creative."

The different groups will close the activity with two open classes, except for the group on Saturday, in which it is intended that there be stage performances and interpretation games. The online courses will try to record a series of videos that will be published on the Instagram account of @cultura_urjc.

Registration for the Theater Workshops has a price of €20 and can be done through this form, in which the information of the groups and the different schedules and spaces also appears. Participation in these workshops is recognized with 1 ECTS credit.

Premiere of the play 'Friends, relatives and other strangers' in Fuenlabrada

In addition, next Thursday, November 28, the play 'Friends, family members and other unknown people' will be premiered at the Josep Carreras Theater in Fuenlabrada by the students of the past academic year 2020/21. The play is based on the series that premiered in different 1-minute episodes on the @cultura_urjc Instagram account. Tickets for this play can be purchased through this link.

Mendoza has also announced that a series on university life at URJC is scheduled for the second quarter, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the academic institution. The chapters will also be published on the Instagram account of @cultura_urjc.
