The Delegation of students of the Degree in Tourism of the Rey Juan Carlos University organizes the 27st Tourism Week on October 28 and XNUMX. The hall of degrees and the assembly hall of the Madrid-Vicálvaro campus host different round tables and presentations that seek to bring practical knowledge of the sector to the students of this degree.

The participants can learn about the new trends and what is currently being worked on in this field thanks to the presence of different professionals and companies such as ITH, AC Hotels, Civitatis or Paradores; and institutions such as the Madrid City Council and the Valencian Community. The XNUMXst Tourism Week aims to be an interactive activity in which the greatest participation is given by the students.

José Ramón Sarmiento and María Dolores Flecha, coordinators of Tourism at the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of the URJC, have been in charge of advising the students, but “everything has been an initiative of the students, they have contacted the companies and they have drawn up the programme”, explains Professor Sarmiento.

“It is important that students participate in the organization of activities like this. In the tourism sector, one of the most developed tasks is organizing events, therefore, what better way than this to put it into practice”, says the teacher.

The sessions have been divided into five thematic tables to address the areas of tourism communication, tour operators, accommodation, tour guides and public institutions. These are held in hybrid mode, in person at the Vicálvaro campus and with virtual follow-up through the Microsoft Teams platform. More information and programming in the following link. The XNUMXst Tourism Week is an initiative promoted by students Iker Galve, Iván Salas, Álvaro Martínez, Luz Marina Gil and Alejandro del Barrio.
