Versions of various styles and even some of their own songs. It is the result of the new edition of the Modern Song Cycle organized by the Culture area of the Rey Juan Carlos University and which has just come to an end.

The course is aimed at any artist, professional or amateur of the Rey Juan Carlos University who wants to improve the quality of musical content creation for castings or digital platforms (Instagram, YouTube, etc.), digital distribution (Spotify, iTunes, etc. .) or improve the community of followers.

The content of the cycle has addressed topics such as audio editing programs and their use, performance techniques at the microphone, sound editing and mixing, ways to record a 'selftape' or an introduction to artist marketing.

After learning these fundamentals of recording and acquiring the knowledge of initiation for an artist, the students were asked for a final project. Each of them chose a topic according to their type of voice and with which they felt comfortable to work on it in class, both in terms of vocal technique, as well as recording and editing.

Beatriz Villar, teacher of the workshop, highlights the quality of the works presented and assures that what has surprised her the most is that “many, practically the majority, have presented their own compositions instead of versions. How many composers are there in the university and how little do we see them, ”she assures. The videos will be shared continuously and can be viewed on the Instagram account of @cultura_urjc.
