The session of this Tuesday, February 8 has marked the beginning of the IV Edition of 'Women for Business Leadership. WomenCEO-URJC', a program that wants to train women who will lead the future in Spain. Through it, the 26 participating students will learn to equip themselves with tools to progress in their personal and professional lives and, thus, begin to become women who will have a lot to say in the coming years.
The inaugural class was given by Concha Iglesias, partner in charge of the Media, Entertainment and Sports industry at Deloitte (main sponsor of the program) who encouraged the participants, in the words of Pilar Laguna, professor in the area of Financial Economics and Accounting and responsible for the initiative at the URJC, "offering a realistic vision of the situation of women today, with the intention of inspiring them and making them aware."
Iglesias also called on the selected girls to "find their own leadership style, inviting them to actively listen and observe the environment in which they are developing their activity and reminded them that personal life cannot be separated from professional life" , indicates Laguna.
The students, for their part, talked about the reasons that push them to want to be leaders and who their role models are in this regard. Many of them referred to their mothers as women who have had to face important challenges. They also discussed their personal and professional wishes.

From now on, these young women who have been chosen after a demanding selection process have 8 weeks of training ahead of them. During that time, they will participate in sessions on personal diagnosis, personal branding, social networks, communication, negotiation and leadership. The program ends with a workshop based on the Design Thinking methodology, a creative group work methodology that enhances individual skills.
50% of the participants come from URJC degrees, but also from UC3M, UAM and UCM. They come from very varied backgrounds such as Business Administration, Psychology, International Relations, among others. 'Women for Business Leadership WomenCEO-URJC' is a pioneering program in public universities and thanks to the support of Deloitte and Caixabank, free for students, “here, if you have the capacity, you have the opportunity”, says Pilar Laguna.
