In recent years, innovation has helped companies keep moving forward. Improving what exists, providing new options that can meet the needs of consumers, or create new products in order to be successful in the market, is something that is taken into account in organizations.
For this reason, in order for university students to develop their talent, the Rey Juan Carlos University is holding a new edition of the Explorer URJC programme. This year, almost twenty projects will be promoted to develop their business idea and to validate if they are viable and sustainable.
The ideas of these 19 projects are very varied: from a project dedicated to the decoration of events and gifts with a balloon, to a health voice assistant, passing through a media outlet on Twitch. On the other hand, it should be noted that many of these plans have a part in which sustainable development is the protagonist
The presentation ceremony for these ideas, held on March 1 at the Móstoles Campus, was attended by the Mayor of the municipality, Noelia Posse, and the Rector of the URJC, Javier Ramos. The Vice Chancellor for Innovation, Transfer and Relations with Companies, Fernando Enrique García Muiña, also attended; the URJC Entrepreneurship Coordinator, Francisco Blanco; the Director of the Business Incubator, Pablo Ramírez; and the Director of Institutional Relations and Entrepreneurship of Santander Universities, Miriam Gil.
The winning idea of the Explorer URJC 2021 was "NaturGo", a website of certified accommodation with ecological indicators. For this edition, the students with the best project will travel to the international event of the European Innovation Academy in Porto in the summer. There they will receive master classes on technology companies, advice on internationalization and contact with investors.
