URJC athletes triumph in the University Championships

University representatives have managed to reach the top of the podium in disciplines such as fencing, chess or karate.

When we talk about the University Championship, we are talking about the Rey Juan Carlos University. And it is that, during the last weeks, the students of the university have curdled great performances in individual sports, putting the URJC once again in the noble sports positions of the Community of Madrid.

The karate representatives have been in charge of obtaining the most medals, hanging 7 medals in the different categories, two of them gold. In the Senior Men's Kumite <60kg category, Carlos Román (gold), Victor Mallo (silver) and Ignacio Izquierdo (bronze) managed to fill the URJC color podium. On the other hand, David de Vega and Alvaro Ezquerra got the bronze in this same category, but in their weights: <67kg and >84kg respectively. On the other hand, Marta Pascual (gold) and Salma Boulam (silver) of Senior Women's Kumite >68kg achieved the long-awaited metal.

In Chess, the first and third places in the Men's University Championship went to the URJC. The champion, Alejandro Aguilera got the victory in this tournament, while Yuhang Shi Zheng won the bronze medal.

On March 3, the Madrid Golf Federation and the CEU San Pablo University organized the Madrid University Pitch & Putt Championship on the Madrid Federation Golf School (CTG) course, in which the University King Juan Carlos was proclaimed team champion. In the women's Scratch category, Elena Lucas won the gold medal. The same color was the metal for Jaime Prieto, winner in the category. On her part, Moira Minfoumou got the second place Women's Handicap.

During the day of Wednesday, March 9, the University Fencing Championship was held in Rivas Vaciamadrid. Emilio Fernández who participated in Sword and Sahel Bravo Fernández in Foil, won gold and silver respectively.
