Video game lovers have an important date this weekend at the Móstoles Campus of the Rey Juan Carlos University. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the university, the student association URJC eSports organizes a fair with tournaments, competitions and conferences that will have special guests and well-known in the world of electronic sports.

URJC Esports Summit It is the first university video game fair that takes place at the Rey Juan Carlos University. With it, it is intended to place the institution as a reference center throughout Spain in the sector. Attendees, who can reserve their free ticket here, they will be able to compete in tournaments of different video games such as LoL, Valorant, Fifa 22, Clash Royale and Brawl Stars.

The event will have five different spaces within the Móstoles Campus that, between 09:00 and 22:00 on Saturday and Sunday, will host a complete program for all kinds of video game lovers.

In addition to the competition, academics will be another fundamental pillar of the event, as Rubén Jordán, organizer, says: “It is a fair that takes place at the university, so academics and entrepreneurship are very important to us. There will be conferences, presentations, workshops and round tables with special guests”, he explains.

Among those guests there will be players known as Saphirax, Marhidia, Dramario, Trixy or Toño Nen, among many more. Another aspect that the URJC Esport Summit wanted to focus on is job opportunities through the offer of internships in companies and brands in the eSports industry.

“A red line for the organization of the event has been that the brands do not come to exhibit and sell their products. We wanted the stands to be points of interaction between the brand and the students”, says Jordán. Another of the objectives of the organization is to bring together students from all the universities of the Community of Madrid, both public and private.

Regarding attendance rates, the organization indicates that up to now there are about 650 people registered, but they hope to reach 750 and point out that the link it will remain open until the same Saturday before the event begins.
