An intergenerational dialogue on the role of women in the economy

Veteran businesswomen and students of the WomenCeo program on corporate leadership will participate this Wednesday, April 6, in a meeting at the Madrid-Vicálvaro Campus that aims to strengthen ties between generations in the business sector.

The Rey Juan Carlos University hosts today at the Madrid-Vicálvaro Campus the event 'Intergenerational dialogue between women in economics. The most urgent challenges', a meeting space to share experiences from a feminine point of view about the economy sector and, above all, to unite ties between women of different generations.

In the words of Pilar Laguna, professor in the Department of Business Economics at URJC and organizer, the event is “a space for dialogue in which active veterans and young women who are finishing university or taking their first steps can meet In the laboral world".

The professor explains that this event arises from the problem that exists in intergenerational relations: "Companies are losing senior and veteran talent due to early retirement, a very calm talent trained and prepared." When these casualties occur, contact and dialogue with the new generations is lost. Hence the goal of holding such an event.

This first dialogue has the economy as its central theme, but "the intention is to take it to more areas such as science, health, or politics," says Pilar Laguna. To carry out this intergenerational dialogue, two renowned businesswomen will participate: Eva Levy, founding partner of Eva Levy & Partners; and Ana Barrio, who leads the commercial (sales) team for the development of new clients for the US at NielsenIQ BASES.

Eva Levy will speak about the role of technology and new job opportunities from a gender perspective, while Ana Barrio will explain how there is an economy that traditionally depends on the incorporation of women into the world of work, in addition to presenting the case of companies that they work diversity from the hiring.

The vision of the new generations will be on the lips of some students of the 'WomenCEO. Women for business leadership'. Lydia Murillo, Jimena González and Josefa Asmussen will discuss the economy and the role of women in the sector with the two speakers, thus offering that intergenerational dialogue that is sought in companies.

The meeting takes place this Wednesday from 12:00 to 13:00 in Room 062 of the Madrid-Vicálvaro Campus of the URJC. Registrations to attend in person or virtually can be sent to the email of Professor Pilar Laguna ().
