The preliminary phase of the Thesis in 3 Minutes of the URJC begins

Next Tuesday, May 17, the URJC representative will be chosen to compete against other universities in the final.

More than a decade ago, the contest “Thesis in 3 Minutes. The objective of this contest continues to maintain its essence, to ensure that science has a greater impact by making it accessible to society.  

To find out who will be the author who will represent the Rey Juan Carlos University in the final phase of the "Thesis in 3 minutes", a preliminary phase will be held in the Hall of Degrees of the Móstoles Campus on May 17. In this preliminary phase, there will be researchers from the five areas of knowledge: Social and Legal Sciences, Sciences, Health Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, and Arts and Humanities, and these will later compete in their respective fields against the rest of the universities. 

For the presentation of the theses, the participants have 180 seconds in which they must address the research topic, its objectives, the problems identified, the contribution of said research and the impact that their work will have. In addition to the informative capacity, students will be able to rely on a fixed image. 

The candidates selected by each University in the previous one will compete in a joint final. Each finalist will receive a prize of €500, one for each winner in each branch of knowledge. Prizes of €100 will also be awarded to the rest of the contestants who have been finalists in the previous phase of each branch of knowledge. 

Both this phase and the final, which will be held on June 10 at the Alcalá de Henares University, will be open and public, where the order of presentation of the candidates is determined in a draw held before the start of the session.
