On Tuesday, May 10, the finals of the URJC Internal Leagues for the 2021/22 academic year took place. After almost 8 months of competition, in which the 110 registered teams played weekly around 20 games divided into regular phase and play-offs, on Tuesday morning the champions, runners-up and 3rd place of each were defined of the 4 leagues in dispute: Soccer-7, Men's Futsal, Mixed Futsal and Basketball 3x3.
From the Sports Service they thank the "participation, commitment and quality" of all the participating teams, as well as the 16 teams involved in the consolation finals. "These internal leagues, which have been played for most of the academic year for more than 15 years, represent an attractive competition in which more than 1.000 students from all campuses practice competitive sports at least once a week," says Pedro Ramos, head of the Sports Service.
“In addition, they don't mind adjusting the games to their class schedules to combine both aspects, even moving between campuses, which generates a very satisfactory dynamic in terms of relationships between them, a sense of belonging to the URJC understood globally, not by campus nor by degrees”, adds Ramos.
Participation in the leagues is also an opportunity to get credits for RAC, since the pass to the Play-off is endowed with 0,25 per student of each classified team and the members of the champion team of each category get 0,75 credits .
Result
In Soccer-7, the Jerusalema team beat Eurojuancar on penalties after finishing regulation time with the result 3-3. The 3rd position was achieved by Catenaccio. In men's futsal, The 5 cones of Beermingham won by a result of 5-3 to Birrálvaro.
In mixed futsal, in its 1st edition, the Mitocondria team beat Recreativo de Juerga 1-0 in a highly disputed match. In Basketball 3x3, the championship went to the Vicálvaro Knicks by beating Real Club Biomédicos. The 3rd position went to Manchester Piti.
