According to the new ranking of El Mundo 'The 50 best careers', the Rey Juan Carlos University is once again the best place to study the degree in Occupational Therapy. In addition, Tourism, Environmental Sciences, Physiotherapy, Teaching Early Childhood Education and Advertising and Public Relations at the URJC, are among the top 5 positions.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Rey Juan Carlos University is once again the best university in Spain in which to study the degree in Occupational Therapy. This is established by the new edition of the ranking 'The Best 50 Races', published by the newspaper El Mundo.

The newspaper highlights that this degree is recognized by the 'World Federation Of Occupational Therapists' and the Faculty of Health Sciences belongs to the 'European Network Of Occupational Therapy in Higher Education'. In addition, it highlights the existence of a significant number of clinical credits, a total of 60. The cut-off mark, last year, for this degree was 9. This comes to endorse the results obtained by Health Sciences degrees in p rankings such as the 'QS by subject' which places the URJC among the 87 best universities in the world in the area of ​​medicine or the 'THE by subject' which places the King Juan Carlos among the best 350.

In fourth place in its specialty are the degrees in Environmental Sciences, Tourism, Physiotherapy and Teaching in Early Childhood Education. And, in fifth place, Advertising and Public Relations is positioned.

Improve Environmental Sciences and Tourism

As far as the degree in Environmental Sciences is concerned, there has been an improvement from 5th to 4th place with respect to the last ranking. El Mundo highlights its very applied training, with a high percentage of practical credits (18 ECTS) and the number of new places. It has a cut-off mark of 8,836. Its good result is added to the fact that, recently, in the ARWU ranking by subject (Shanghai ranking), in the area of ​​Ecology, the URJC has been ranked among the 150 best universities in the world.

For its part, the degree in Tourism has improved its position compared to the previous edition: from 5th to 4th place. El Mundo highlights that it has the largest number of Tourism students in all of Spain and maintains its leadership in offering double degrees. The degree has 989 students enrolled and reaches 1.955 with double degrees and is taught on 3 campuses, in addition to the modalities in English and blended learning. The cut-off mark with Marketing at the URJC is the highest of the Madrid universities related to Tourism studies (11,326).

Physiotherapy, Early Childhood Education and Advertising and PR are maintained

The degree in Physiotherapy has maintained its position compared to the previous edition: 4th place. On this occasion, the great importance it gives to practices in real clinical settings with its Practicum subjects is highlighted. His cut-off mark is 11,784.

The degree in Early Childhood Education repeats its position compared to last year: 4th place. The newspaper highlights that it can be taken in blended learning or in English. The cut-off mark in the double degree with Primary Education at the URJC is the highest of the Madrid universities related to Early Childhood Education studies (12,297). 

URJC, according to the THE by subject ranking, in the area of ​​Education, is among the 400 best universities in the world.

The degree in Advertising and Public Relations is once again in 4th place in its specialty. El Mundo highlights the number of places offered (220 on two campuses) and that there is a blended learning modality. The cut-off mark is 10,8 in the single degree, increasing the same in its double degrees. 

URJC, according to the ARWU ranking by subject (Shanghai ranking), in the area of ​​Communication, is among the 300 best universities in the world and according to the QS by subject, in the area of ​​Communication & Media Studies, among the 240.

According to Diana Benito, Deputy Vice-Rector for Strategy, “the great work and quality of teaching at the Rey Juan Carlos University have been rewarded with the recognition of 6 of our Degrees among the 5 best in Spain, in the Ranking "50 careers from the world". These good results are added to the good positions that the URJC as a whole is achieving in the main international rankings for yet another year”.

The ranking also indicates that the URJC plans to offer three new degrees during the 2022/2023 academic year: Data Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

On the other hand, this report highlights that "the variety of degrees offered" is one of the strengths of the URJC, which together with "the high competitiveness of the teachers" are the origin of the good results achieved by the Rey Juan Carlos University in national and international rankings.
