Students of the URJC Modern Song Cycle record their own video clips

The workshop brings to an end another edition in which around twenty participants have put into practice everything they have learned about recording and performance techniques.

Rap, author song, reggaeton or pop are some of the musical genres that can be heard in the video clips recorded by the students of the URJC Modern Song Cycle. The workshop, lasting 21 hours, has been developed throughout the second quarter and has had twenty registered.

The course is aimed at any artist, professional or amateur of the Rey Juan Carlos University who wants to improve the quality of musical content creation for castings or digital platforms (Instagram, YouTube, etc.), digital distribution (Spotify, iTunes, etc. .) or improve the community of followers.

The teacher of the cycle, Beatriz Villar, says that this edition has been “very interesting” due to the variety of musical styles that have been heard. “Most of the songs are pop or commercial genre, although there has also been reggaeton and even a rap by a PAS that writes poetry,” she explains.

The objective of the course is for students to learn to handle editing tools and recording software, as well as technical material such as microphones and sound cards. On the other hand, the students have also received classes on marketing for the artist, lighting or staging, among other aspects.

"We didn't want it to be all about technique and only me to speak during the three hours of class, but rather that the students could raise their doubts and questions about everything related to being an artist," says the teacher.

All the video clips, with versions of songs and some of their own songs, can be seen on the Instagram account of @cultura_urjc.
