'SpinOut' has already started and has done so attracting the attention of the entrepreneurial community of the URJC. The accelerator has received 44 registrations from companies from all sectors. The only requirement to participate is that the project or idea has an important element of innovation.

The program has just completed its 'entrepreneurship course 0', a preliminary and essential phase before fully entering the acceleration process. This second phase will include 12 companies that the 'SpinOut' Research Committee will select during this week.

The non-selected proposals have been offered the opportunity to continue developing their idea in the business incubators linked to the URJC in order to arrive with a more mature project and be able to access the next call.

As Ana Asensio, one of the program's coordinators, explains, "the university's entrepreneurs are delighted with the program, many of them are technologists who, in the course that has just ended, are acquiring knowledge about how to bring their ideas to market that they are proving very useful”.

Ideas and projects from the entire university community participate in 'SpinOut' as long as they are markedly innovative. In this first call, most of the proposals have to do with the services sector.

In addition, the people behind the ideas are mostly university students, reaching up to 65% of the participants. A fact that highlights the important entrepreneurial nature of URJC students, whether they are undergraduates, masters or doing a doctorate.

'SpinOut' is an initiative of the Rey Juan Carlos University carried out with the support of the Madrid City Council.
