One of the strategic axes of the URJC is internationalization. In this line, the university celebrates this week the 'International Staff Week' (ISW). In it, and until Friday, 80 representatives (PDI AND PAS) from universities from countries outside the European Union will be able to learn about everything that the Rey Juan Carlos University can offer.

On this occasion, representatives of university centers from: Bosnia Herzegovina, the United States, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia and the Dominican Republic have attended.

According to María Luisa Humanes Humanes, vice-rector for International Relations, “the objective is to expand and strengthen the international ties of the URJC. This week there is a large presence of countries from Sub-Saharan Africa and the Maghreb that are priority areas for internationalization, such as, of course, the United States and Latin America”.

Tuesday's session was held entirely on the Móstoles campus. The rector, Javier Ramos, addressed a welcome message to the ISW participants. During the rest of the day, the delegates from the international universities wanted to introduce the URJC staff to their different universities and the strengths they have in terms of studies, infrastructure, and research.

During the week, the delegates will visit and learn about the campuses and headquarters of the Rey Juan Carlos University. In addition, they will take a guided tour of the center of Madrid and will be able to enjoy a gala dinner at an El Pardo restaurant.

Possible future agreements

According to María Luisa Humanes, “this event may give rise to new agreements related to international mobility. Precisely among the participants are the representatives of the Delaware Law School (USA) with whom the URJC has recently signed a mobility agreement for our law students”.

The URJC International Staff Week is an action that is part of the Erasmus+ program and this is the tenth edition organized by the Rey Juan Carlos University. In addition, the International Relations Service also publishes information related to the ISW organized by other universities, so that both PDI and PAS of the URJC can participate.
