The Rey Juan Carlos University will participate for the first time in the Aranjuez Early Music Festival as a collaborating entity. The renovated San Carlos Hospital Auditorium, headquarters of the URJC, will host two concerts on October 8 and 9. Two round tables will also be prepared on the relationship between early music and other forms of musical expression.

The Festival is organized by the City Council of the town of Aranjuez and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid. The events will take place on Saturdays and Sundays between September 17 and October 16. In this link you can see the program. In addition to the concerts, other cultural activities are offered and the possibility of taking a tour of the city, in order to get closer to the history and music of the time.

The initiative was born in 1994 due to an impulse from the Community of Madrid and the Ministry of Culture to recover the musical splendor of the Royal Site, in which Felipe II and the Bourbon kings developed musical life for several centuries. The relationship between the city and cultural heritage definitively promoted the celebration of the Festival, which celebrates its 29th Edition this year.
