The Arjé Association, made up of Philosophy degree students, organizes the 2nd Edition of the José Ortega y Gasset Seminar with several presentations by Professor Ignacio Sánchez Cámara.

For the start of this new course, the URJC Philosophy Delegation resumes its activity with a weekly meeting with Ortega y Gasset. Every Friday, on the Fuenlabrada campus, there will be a session dedicated to analyzing the thought of the Spanish philosopher through his work What is philosophy? The schedule will be in the morning and the cycle will consist of 11 sessions, which begin today, Friday, September 30. The first of the sessions will be an introduction to the thought of the Spanish philosopher in order to easily follow the rest of the content

All the appointments will be directed by Professor Ignacio Sánchez Cámara, an expert in the work of the Spanish philosopher. Cámara, professor of Philosophy of Law at the Rey Juan Carlos University, wrote his doctoral thesis on 'The theory of the select minority in the thought of Ortega y Gasset' and, in 2002, he was the director of the Center for Orteguian Studies of the University Institute from Madrid.

From the Arjé Association, the entire university community has been encouraged to attend the event, which "has the uniqueness of being organized in the form of a reading club and debate on the thought of Ortega's work in general and the work to treat in particular”. With this format, "a dialogue is established between the philosopher, the students who start their university career, those who finish it, and even graduates and doctoral students, which we believe represents a great training activity and the development of critical thinking."

After the 1st Edition of the José Ortega y Gasset Seminar, the Association wanted to continue taking advantage of the opportunity to "transfer the presentations that Professor Sánchez Cámara gave each year in his subject to an open Seminar, for all those students who want to participate and delve into the work and thought of the Spanish philosopher".

For his part, Arjé also wanted to "highlight our gratitude to Professor Ignacio Sánchez Cámara for his predisposition, time and dedication to this seminar".

The event can be followed in person or online, for those who cannot attend. The registration form is open and credits will be given to attendees. The broadcast will be on the Teams platform, at the following link: Ortega y Gasset Seminar
