Since last October 4 you can enjoy the VI edition of the series of conferences that the Association of Philosophical Hispanism has held every year since 2017.

"The reason for this cycle of conferences responds to the desire to connect the academy with civil society, trying to bring relevant female figures of Spanish and Ibero-American thought closer to the general public, not necessarily specialized" explains Cristina Hermida del Llano, professor of philosophy of law of the URJC and president of the Association of Philosophical Hispanism.

“Although the first year of the cycle of conferences 'Women with a Spanish/Ibero-American soul' was held with notable success in the majestic setting of the Alma Club in Madrid, successive editions have been organized in the traditional and emblematic Café Gijón in Madrid, with the purpose of reaching more people in this way given the popularity and prestige of the gatherings held in this literary space since the XNUMXth century”

Within an intellectual climate and a friendly atmosphere, countless personalities and the general public have been meeting since 2017 to debate relevant female figures of Spanish and Ibero-American thought. In addition, the first volume of this cycle of conferences 'Women with a Spanish/Ibero-American soul. Exemplary lives with courage'

“I would like to place on record my deep gratitude to the management of Club Alma and Café Gijón in Madrid for having supported this cultural initiative, as well as, of course, the varied public that, with great interest and high participation, has followed the development of these conferences. There is no doubt that without all of them, this cycle of conferences, which now begins its VI Edition, would have been unfeasible” concludes Cristina Hermida.

With a duration of two hours and until June 6, 2023, when the last presentation will be held, the Gijón café will host a total of ten gatherings in which philosophers, jurists, artists, journalists, historians, photographers will participate. , lawyers or economists of recognized prestige.
