Global Dignity is a worldwide movement to work and raise awareness of the dignity of all people. The initiative arose a few years ago within the World Economic Forum and has the support of Prince Haakon of Norway, the South African Bishop Desmond Tutu and businessman Richard Branson. In Spain it is represented by the Ayo Foundation. October 19 is the day chosen by this movement to celebrate the 'Global Dignity Day'

The Education Observatory of the Rey Juan Carlos University, in collaboration with the Ayo Foundation, have cooperated so that, during this Wednesday, workshops and various activities are held in various schools in Madrid to value the dignity of people.

"From the Observatory we are going to support actions on issues related to dignity, on which issues such as exclusion, xenophobia or homophobia, among others, pivot," says Pilar Laguna, director of the URJC Education Observatory and teacher.

The Rey Juan Carlos University has worked to achieve a network of 'Global Dignity Day' schools and colleges in which all kinds of activities will be held today, October 19, adapted to the age of the boys and girls. From dramatized proposals for children's education to talks with experts for teenagers.

In addition, the Global Dignity initiative will be able to use this network created by the URJC to continue its work of training teachers on issues related to raising awareness of human dignity, beyond 'Global Dignity Day'.
