The URJC has just published a blotter of its new university coexistence regulations, which is an adaptation of the University Coexistence Law published in the BOE in February 2022.

The objective of both the Law and the regulations is "to put an end to the anachronism that the previous Law of 1954, in full Francoism, which has become obsolete," explains the university defender, Juan Carlos Aguado, one of the people in charge of the preparation of this draft.

In the regulations, which refer to the university life of the student body, as a novelty the introduction of new conflict resolution measures stands out: mediation, conciliation and agreement, whenever this is possible. It also includes a large typology of infractions with their corresponding sanctions.

Another of the important proposals of this regulation is the composition of the commission in charge of applying it. It is made up of representatives of all the groups of the University Community: students, PDI and PAS, ending the previous structure that limited the application responsibility to deans and school directors by delegation of the rector.

As Aguado points out, being in the draft phase, "the document is open to contributions from the entire University Community." In a short space of time, the URJC will publish the procedures to carry them out.
