The URJC Music Classroom summons students to audition and form part of the University's musical groups, directed by Gemma Camps.

On the occasion of the beginning of the second semester, the URJC choir and orchestra reopen their registrations and call auditions for students who wish to be members.

The auditions, as URJC Culture has commented, will be held online to facilitate student participation. As of this Monday, January 23 and until the 30th of the same month, the address  You will receive the proposals of the students in video format.

As Gemma Camps, director of the URJC Choir and Orchestra, has pointed out, “we are testing this new modality because this second selection process always catches exams. We usually have an important program for spring, so to optimize time, both for the people who show up and for our own, we wanted to do this modality online”.

Applicants to the URJC Choir must send a recording of no more than 5 minutes performing a song of their choice. The rehearsals for this ensemble are held on Thursdays from 18:30 p.m. to 20:30 p.m. in the Aula de Música on the Móstoles Campus. Registration is done through the following link: https://forms.office.com/e/1zrkr3i5WD

The symphony orchestra, for its part, rehearses on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the same Music Room on the Móstoles campus. Applicants to the group must send a video interpreting a piece, of any style, no more than 10 minutes long.

The instruments requested are those of an orchestra; violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba or percussion. Registration for the URJC Orchestra is done through the following link: https://forms.office.com/e/JCz1gLnwhi

“Although it is true that it is an activity that is designed to be long-term and that it be a global experience”, Gemma Camps has commented, “we give this second opportunity because we understand that perhaps there are students or PAS and PDI who may have a most complicated moment in the first semester or vice versa. Even so, we give Erasmus students that opportunity to participate in the semester they are at the university”.

The content of the auditions, as Camps has pointed out, is free; “They can play or sing a piece of their choice, in which they feel comfortable and with which they do something they like, so that we can see their skills and see to what extent they fit with the project we have and the profiles we are looking for” .

To resolve any questions regarding the registration process, the director of the Choir and Orchestra herself, Gemma Camps, will be responding by email
