El virtual museum of the URJC is available from this Monday on the home page of the university website. Whoever wants it can enjoy more than 250 works of art, between graphic work, painting and sculpture.

The objective, explain its directors Sara Núñez de Prado Clavell, a professor in the Contemporary History area, and Agustín Martínez Peláez, in the Art History area, is to “collect all the artistic works that are in the University, distributed throughout the campus and put them in value, disseminating them among the university community and the rest of society”.

In this museum you can see, with the highest quality, works by authors as referential in Spanish contemporary art as Jordi Teixidor, Luis Gordillo or, the recently disappeared, Ouka Lele.

In addition, the sample can be visited virtually through this link that leads to its location in the Metaverse.

As the directors point out, in addition to the appreciation of artistic heritage, this space has an “important pedagogical aspect. Since it will have a room for presentations of different types and locations for classes in History of Art or History”. "Something that will be very common in a period of 5 years," they add.

The Virtual Museum of the URJC represents a turning point when it comes to valuing and protecting the university's artistic heritage. After being placed on the home page of the university website, it will be housed in the 'University Life' section, within the section dedicated to 'Art and Culture.
