Like the economy, cities or tourism, communication can be more sustainable from all points of view. The congress has brought together more than 50 editors from the communication media of the European Union and Latin America, with the aim of building a communication model that contributes to peace, democracy, transparency and the circular economy.

The rector of the Rey Juan Carlos University, Javier Ramos, has participated in the second day of the congress. Ramos has pointed out that “for the university you (those responsible for the media) are very important. We need the information that reaches our students outside the classroom to be truthful, contrasted, and in a format to which they are accustomed”. The rector added that "from the URJC, we will participate, without rest, in those activities aimed at uniting European and Latin American youth, to build bridges, to commit ourselves."

And in this sense, he stressed that “the Spanish presidency of the Union is an opportunity. At the URJC we will be supporting and collaborating in different activities that improve this knowledge, where we will unite young people with the main European authorities”.

In addition to the rector, on behalf of the URJC, the vice-rector for International Relations, María Luisa Humanes, has also participated in the congress, speaking about the fourth executive power, public communication. Likewise, teachers Manuel Gertrudix and María Rosa Tapias have been part of the sessions on “The future, communicating without communicating. Artificial intelligence and communication” and “The European Press Law”, on February 8 and 9.

For the rest, the congress, organized by Prestomedia Grupo, has had the presence and participation of the editor of the Ukrainian media 'Ukrainska Pravda', Sevgil Musayeva, who has offered her point of view of the war that is taking place in that country. Musayeva is included in the list of the 100 most influential women in the world.

In addition to the state of information in the Ukrainian War, public communication or the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and communication, among other issues, the current state of the three permanent functions of the media has been discussed: training, informing and entertain.

The acts of the congress ended on Thursday night with the awards ceremony for this edition. The ceremony was presided over by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
