Radu Mihai Istrate, URJC Pharmacy student, has received the COFARES Erasmus Excelente award after his stay in Perugia, Italy.
The event took place on February 23, at the Alfonso X El Sabio University, and the student was accompanied by the dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Carlos Goicoechea, the Erasmus coordinator of the Pharmacy degree, Rocío Girón Moreno, and Francisco Gómez Esquer, Vice Dean of Students. The award was presented by the president of the Official College of Pharmacists of Madrid, Manuel Martínez del Peral.
“Receiving the 'Excellent Erasmus Student' award has been a very important and proud recognition for me. It has been a very beautiful act, full of emotions, where I have been lucky to be accompanied by my parents, my friends and the teachers without whom my Erasmus experience would not have been the same”, confesses Radu Mihai.
The Pharmacy student completed his Erasmus at the Università degli Studi di Perugia in the Scienze Farmacutiche department, throughout the 2021-2022 academic year. As he tells us, “it has been, without a doubt, the best year of my life, where from the first day I have taken advantage of all the opportunities that have been presented to me. In addition to meeting and seeing another university, I have made many new friends, I have learned Italian and I have discovered the wonderful culture of this country”.
Born in Romania in 1999, for Radu Mihai “studying pharmacy has been, from the very beginning, pure illusion. It is a degree to which you have to dedicate a lot of time and passion, but over the years you see that all the effort has been worth it, and you get rewards when you least expect it, such as this award”.
As a recommendation, the awarded student wanted to encourage everyone who has doubts to go on Erasmus, "because it is very worth it, it will be an experience that you can only have once in your life, and that once in the foreigner, make the most of every moment, and don't say no to anything”.
