The Rey Juan Carlos University and Casa Wallonia (Representation of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, in Spain) have organized their XNUMXst meeting with the aim of increasing their collaboration in everything that has to do with electronic entertainment: videogames, virtual reality, reality augmented etc

Today, April 27, after another two days of work, the URJC acts as host. The university has organized an event that, as explained by Daniel Palacios-Alonso, academic coordinator of Promotion, Relations with Companies and Profession of the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering (ETSII), "has three legs: academic, research and business".

The act is presided over and inaugurated by the rector, Javier Ramos and Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Minister President of the Government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

From an academic point of view, the university will inform the Walloon authorities (Belgium) and representatives of universities (Mons) and study centers such as Albert Jacquard, of great relevance in the world of videogames, the training offer of the URJC in the field of video games, virtual reality, or computer graphics. The presentation will be given by Abraham Duarte, director of the ETSII

Erasmus green programs and the possibility of doing a joint master's degree between the URJC and the University of Mons will also be discussed. On the other hand, the vice-rector for International Relations, María Luisa Humanes, will speak about the EULIST university alliance.

From the point of view of Research, the deputy vice-rector Lydia González will comment on the scientific work of the URJC, especially in what has to do with European projects.

In addition, attendees will be able to meet the finalists of the Hispano-Belga GameJam called for this meeting. The teams are mixed between students from both countries. 7 formations have finished the projects and 4 have passed to the final round. "The winners will travel with expenses paid to GamesCon, the most important video game and electronic entertainment fair in Europe, which is held in Cologne (Germany)," says Palacios-Alonso.

In addition to these events, the meeting will have a space, on the outskirts of the rectory assembly hall, in which almost twenty companies will show their products and developments to the members of the Belgian delegation who, likewise, will visit the cave of Virtual Reality installed in the CAT of the Móstoles campus.
