'THE Impact' examines parameters of more than 1400 universities in relation to compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals decided by the UN within the framework of the 2030 Agenda. The ranking has highlighted the commitment of the Rey Juan Carlos University to educational quality . The University thus goes from being between positions 801-1000 to being in the top quarter of all the centers analysed. Which is a marked improvement.

The ranking also places the URJC among the top 300 in terms of clean water and sanitation management (SDG6). Likewise, the URJC is recognized for its work in the formation of alliances to achieve compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG17) and is also among the 300 best.

The Rey Juan Carlos University is located in the same positions in the SDG12, corresponding to responsible consumption and production.

The URJC also manages to place itself in exceptional positions (301-400) in SDG7, related to clean and affordable energy. In the previous installment of this classification, the University was placed in the range of 401-600.

The University manages to stay among the top 300 in subjects such as Decent Employment and Economic Growth (SDG8) and Life of Terrestrial Ecosystems (SDG15). Likewise, the URJC remains among the 400 best in the world in Gender Equality (SDG5), Reduction of inequalities (SDG10), Life Underwater (SDG14) and Promotion of Peace, Justice and strengthening of Institutions (SDG16).

As Diana Benito Osorio, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Strategy, indicates, “we continue to join efforts among our university community to be increasingly sustainable. The URJC has people dedicated to achieving each of the 17 SDGs. The result is very powerful, we have revalidated our position as the only Madrid university to contribute to SDG1 (End of Poverty), SDG2 ('Zero Hunger'), SDG6 ('Clean Water and Sanitation'), SDG10 ('Reduction of Inequalities'), SDG14 ('Underwater Life') and SDG15 ('Life on Land'). In SDG12 ('Responsible Production and Consumption') we have the best position of all public universities in Madrid and in SDG8 ('Decent Work and Economic Growth') we share this first position with the UCM.

The deputy vice-chancellor adds that, "the URJC, from its strategic project URJC 2030, has defined sustainability as a fundamental pillar of the university in its present and future development".

This commitment to sustainability is endorsed by the good results obtained in the 'THE Impact' ranking.
