The newspaper 'El Mundo' published last Tuesday its classification of the 100 best online master's degrees in Spain. Among these degrees, there are two that are taught at the Rey Juan Carlos University: 'Inclusive education and universal design of learning' and the master's degree in 'Hydrology and water resources management'.

Both degrees occupy 5th position in their respective categories, 'Education' and 'Environment'.

In 'El Mundo', the first stands out for its extensive network of contacts to be able to carry out internships with entities specialized in educational inclusion (ONCE, Plena Inclusion or the State Confederation of Deaf People). Of the second, for its part, emphasis is placed on the teaching quality made up of excellent researchers and professionals with extensive experience in leading water management companies and entities.

An education for everyone, really

In addition to the extensive network of contacts, highlighted by 'El Mundo', the online Master of 'Inclusive Education and Universal Design of Learning' It has other strengths. Teacher specialization is one of them. Ricardo Moreno, director of the degree, highlights that “we have been working on these issues for many years, even before the 2030 Agenda placed inclusive Education among the Sustainable Development Goals. The master's degree breaks with the idea of special education, it focuses on education being designed from its origin in an inclusive way and also does so in a very specific way in the universal design for learning, a cardinal strategy of the LOMLOE.

The master's degree, on the other hand, is designed to teach the teacher that, in his classroom, "he will find diversity and that his educational programming must always take that characteristic into account," says the professor.

Ricardo Moreno encourages those teachers who want to work on real education for everyone to take this master's degree, “the Constitution guarantees that education is for everyone. This is not the case until teachers are fully trained in the tools, methodologies, processes, etc. Our master's degree has the spirit, from the beginning, of satisfying that need for knowledge.” All with the aim of moving towards education, truly, for everyone.

Multidisciplinary vision for the water challenge

The quality of the teaching staff is, according to 'El Mundo', the strong point of the master's degree in 'Hydrology and Water Resources Management', which the URJC teaches together with the UAH. Furthermore, Francisco Carreño, director of the degree at the Rey Juan Carlos University, draws attention to the multidisciplinary vision that the master's degree offers since it “prepares you to have a comprehensive vision of the water sector necessary for effective management of this resource.” ”.

In the context of drought and climate change, the degree, explains Carreño, responds to the demand of companies and entities that seek “better management and planning.”

The master's degree combines a theoretical part with a practical part made up of field trips and visits to facilities "that allow the multidisciplinary profile to be put into practice."

A qualification that, together with the degree in Water resources, aims to respond to one of the greatest challenges in today's world: effective water management.
