With the aim of showing the transformations that are taking place in the journalistic profession, the 'Challenges and Challenges of Current Journalism' event included the participation of Anna Bosch (international journalist for RTVE), Toño Fraguas (Editor-in-chief of elDiario.es) and Idoia Soto (Digital strategy expert and former deputy director of Forbes). The opening of the Conference took place with the director of the Department of Journalism and Corporate Communication, Ms. Gloria Gómez-Escalonilla and those responsible for the event, Concepción Gómez García and Alexandra Mª Sandulescu Budea.

Throughout the different interventions, the journalists invited the students to understand the complexity of the journalistic profession and the importance of collaboration in its practice. “You learn the most from mistakes and with shyness you can't be a journalist,” Anna Bosch advised. For his part, Toño Fraguas emphasized that “all news is content, but not all content is news” focusing more on the journalist's day-to-day work and the selection of information. Finally, Idoia Soto recalled that constant updating where globalization is a changing element and technology must be our ally.

The Conference is the result of the XVII Promotion Call for the Organization of Academic Activities of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University. The event was broadcast live on the official channels of the Innovation Group and had a full capacity.
