Students from the grades of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and try to develop the ability to collaborate between students in a competition divided into 2 phases.

The new initiative developed by the Faculty of Health Sciences consists of forming work groups to carry out a joint project, with the peculiarity that the members of the group must be of a different degree. Students who want to participate must study Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Dentistry, Psychology or Occupational Therapy or any double degree that has any of the aforementioned careers.

“One of the objectives of the tournament is to promote interdisciplinarity among the participants,” declares Almudena Alameda, Vice Dean of Teaching Innovation at the Faculty of Health Sciences and developer of the initiative, claiming this concept is one of the transversal competencies of the degrees of the faculty, and that it should be worked on as soon as possible and that in the future they will have to apply it in their work life.

The tournament will consist of 2 phases: a league phase, which will be carried out online and will consist of questions about 3 different categories, forming a score that, together with a percentage that will be obtained from the number of followers of the Instagram account of Each team will determine which team will advance to the phase; and a cup competition, which will be held in person, where the 3 finalist teams will answer 20 questions asked by a panel. The first phase of the tournament will consist of 4 contests, taking place between October 27, 2023 and April 26, 2024, while the second phase will be held on May 31, 2024 at the Faculty of Health Sciences.

“It is the first year that the tournament has been held and the reception has been fantastic, with a total of 140 participants and 20 teams” explains the vice dean, who recommends that the participants “get to know each other, read the communicative bulletin of the faculty, to learn about current events on sustainable development, in addition to studying basic science content.”

The tournament has already begun and next Friday we will find the first contest, where the teams will face a questionnaire of 15 questions, where a competition will begin between the participating students that will end with obtaining a trophy, a monetary prize and a total of 1,25 RAC credits.
